What’s trust got to do with it

Who do you trust: God, yourself, your friends, your partner, your money?

Are you a sceptic? Have you tried to maintain hope in people? Does it feel like a lifelong journey of having your hope dashed every time optimism creeps in? You were starting to trust in the opposite sex again, then they let you down. You thought that you’d overcome that addiction, then it came knocking at your door step. Your biggest opportunity for a breakthrough came, but things didn’t go in your favour. What do you trust in? Do you want to trust anymore?

Take 1: ‘Life is for the go-getters, the ones who know what they want and take it. Nothing just comes into your hands- you can’t trust anybody. I am where I’m at because I did what I needed to do.’

Take 2: ‘I’m pretty satisfied with where I’m at in life. I got lucky along the way but I took my chances. I mean, you make your own luck right? I try and be content with what I have, but if there’s more I’ll take it.’

Take 3: ‘Nothing ever works for me. Even when it does it never lasts. I could be in a room full of people and never get noticed. It doesn’t matter what I do I never get recognised. But that’s about to change- I’ll do something that can’t be ignored.’

Take 4: ‘If you journey with Me there’s always the untapped. Along the journey you will discover that My boundaries are endless and My bandwidth cannot be measured. If you just stay with Me, you will be fine.’

A lot of questions asked, a lot of statements made.

Suggested Actions:

1. Listen to ‘The High Performance Podcast E111 – Rachel Botsman: What it really means to trust.’ She elaborates on her comment “Trust is a confident relationship with the unknown.”

2. Scriptures which relate to the topic:

a. “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.”- Joshua 1:5 NKJV

b. “Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it. And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.””- Deuteronomy 31:7-8 NKJV

c. “Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, [a]judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.”- Jeremiah 9:23-24 NKJV
